Customs information within the EU

In principle, all souvenirs that were purchased in the Member State of purchase are tax-free. The following guide quantities apply to the private movement of goods:

Perfume: No restrictions if it is for personal consumption.
Drug: For personal use only.
Coffee: 10 kg

Alcoholic drinks
10 l spirits
10 l alcoholic sweet drinks (alcopops)
20 l liqueur wine, vermouth wine
90 l of wine (of which a maximum of 60 l of sparkling wine)
110 liters of beer

When entering Germany:
Tobacco products
800 cigarettes or
400 cigarillos or 200 cigars or
1 kg of smoking tobacco

When entering Austria:
The following applies to the private importation of tobacco products into Austria: Tobacco products that have been purchased abroad and do not have any warning notices in German as required by the Tobacco Act may only be brought into Austria to a limited extent.

The following guide quantities must be observed here:
200 cigarettes or
100 cigarillos
50 cigars or
250 g smoking tobacco

In general (for Germany and Austria):
Persons aged 17 and over are authorized to export / import (coffee from 15 years of age). Goods that are purchased in the duty-free shop are free of charge within the scope of the quantities listed above.
