The second largest city on the island

The Romans called the town Portus Magnus and the Catalans named it Portmanz. Sant Antoni de Portmany is not only a tourist center, but also an extremely historical place. At the beginning of this century, a Byzantine necropolis was discovered in the west of the village, in whose tombs coins, clay vessels and numerous ceramic objects from the early days of the empire were found. Opposite Sant Antoni de Portmany is the island of Conejera. A few years ago Sant Antoni de Portmany was a tiny fishing village, untouched by tourism. Today it is the second largest town in Ibiza, with a silhouette reminiscent of New York from a distance.

The casual atmosphere will delight you as soon as you arrive. During the day you sit in one of the many street cafés and watch the hustle and bustle at the harbor. Watch ferries, yachts and pleasure boats or tropical flowers and plants on the paseo. At night, the Westend comes to life - a concentration of bars and discos with a unique party atmosphere. The 14th century church in the center of Sant Antoni de Portmany, which is impressive for its simplicity, is also worth a visit. For photographers, the red and gold sunset is probably the most beautiful gift the city has to offer.
