Description
Discover the south-east of Crete
The enchanting landscapes and picturesque mountain villages, where little has changed for millennia, are the highlights of the trip. You'll drive through olive groves and vineyards at the foot of the Dikti Mountains.
You'll enjoy your first stop in the charming town of Agios Nikolaos, located on the picturesque Mirabello Bay. Here, you'll have the opportunity to take a short stroll through the town and visit the farmers' market.
You will then drive past small villages, olive groves and beautiful mountain landscapes until you reach the quaint mountain village of Kalamafka.
Kalamafka is located 11km northwest of Ierapetra and 25km south of Agios Nikolaos and nestles impressively on the edge of the mountains.
Enjoy the expansive views of the north and south coasts of Crete and wooded hills.
The seaside village of Myrtos lies at the mouth of the impressive Sarakina Gorge, 13 km west of Ierapetra, in a valley dotted with greenhouses and citrus orchards. You'll spend your lunch break in this idyllic village.
On the way back you will visit the traditional mountain village of Kritsa.
