Your vacation island

Tenerife is an island of volcanic origin, which was probably formed in the Tertiary around 10 million years ago. The mountains near Adeje, the Teno and the Anaga mountains were once three islands that merged into one island through the formation of the mighty primeval volcano. Today the island has a peculiar triangular shape and extends to 2.034 km². In order to make the heights and differences in height clear, it should be pointed out that in the center of this relatively small island area rises the mighty Pico del Teide, which rose from the collapsed crater of the primeval volcano around 500.000 years ago and is the highest at 3.718 m peak of Spain.

The rugged terrain of the island and the diversity of the climate create a landscape mosaic that ranges from the stone evidence of volcanic activity to the leafy valleys of subtropical vegetation. In addition to desert-like zones, there are also temperate, forested zones, in which fleeting fog usually creates a ghostly atmosphere.
Tenerife is internationally known as the island of eternal spring. And accordingly, the island's climate is very mild in every season. There are neither severe cold spells nor oppressive humid heat waves.

Average temperatures range between 17 and 18°C in winter and reach 28 to 30°C in summer. However, these values are only relative and very general, because the climate is of course influenced by the varied and spectacular landscape and the diverse vegetation. This results in different microclimates, which are one of the many attractive features of the island.
