Description
Discover the south-east of Crete
The highlights are enchanting landscapes and quaint mountain villages that have changed little over the millennia. You drive at the foot of the Dikti Mountains through olive groves and vineyards.
You will enjoy your first stay at the picturesque bay of Mirabello in the enchanting town of Agios Nikolaos. Here you have the opportunity to take a little stroll through town and visit the farmer's market.
Afterwards you drive to the quaint mountain village of Kalamafka, passing small villages, olive groves and beautiful mountain landscapes. The village of Kalamafka is 11km northwest of Ierapetra and 25km south of Agios Nikolaos and has a commanding location on the edge of the mountains. Enjoy a wide view of the north and south coast of Crete and the wooded hills.
Stop at the historic village of Anatoly, set amidst a mountainous landscape of outstanding beauty, before continuing to Myrtos. The seaside village of Myrthos lies at the exit of the imposing Sarakina Gorge, 13km west of Ierapetra, in a greenhouse-filled and citrus-filled valley crossed by the Kryos River.
End the day in Ierapetra, the southernmost city in Europe.
