This special excursion starts with the Selinari Monastery, which is situated in a beautiful valley, just off the expressway between the capital Heraklion and the town of Agios Nikolaos.

After continuing your journey you will reach the small town of Elounda. For more than three decades, Elounda has been a favorite holiday destination for presidents, show business stars and other celebrities.
After a swim, the round trip around Spinalonga starts in small fishing boats from the fashionable, small town of Elounda. The island has a varied and eventful history. First it was a pirate base, later a Venetian fortress, then a Turkish settlement and finally a leper colony. Its residents lived in complete isolation due to the high risk of infection. They formed a village community on the island with a complete infrastructure. There was a school, grocery stores and even a tavern. After the discovery of the vaccine serum, the isolation was lifted and the last residents left the island in 1957.
Afterwards you will visit the enchanting town of Agios Nikolaos, which was built amphitheatrically over its famous lake. Here you will find all sorts of attractions, museums, cafés, shops and taverns and have the opportunity to stroll around town in a special evening atmosphere.
