Description
Art and culture, a wonderful sandy beach and a unique fairytale forest
Enjoy this unique journey through the oldest and most untouched part of Tenerife. Discover pure nature and let yourself be enchanted by the unique fairytale forest.
In small minivans you will drive to the historic university town of La Laguna, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. With some free time, explore the lively market hall and the typical Canarian colonial houses. Afterwards it goes through the Mercedes forest up to the Anaga mountains. This mountain landscape was formed around 7 to 9 million years ago and is one of the oldest landforms on the island.
After exploring the fairytale forest, the drive continues on the north side of the island to the original village of Taganana, where you will have a fresh fish lunch (meat or vegetarian option).
After lunch, it goes on the east coast along the beautiful sandy Sahara beach of Playa de las Teresitas and through the young capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Candelaria, the most important Catholic pilgrimage site in the Canary Islands. There you will visit the Black Madonna in the basilica before returning to your hotel.
