Information on train travel with the Rail & Fly ticket

How to redeem the voucher from your travel documents:

The 2nd class train to flight service is included in classic package tours with DER Touristik. Passengers can therefore travel to/from the airport with Deutsche Bahn in a climate-neutral manner without having to look for a parking space and without stress. If you have already booked an individual Rail & Fly ticket with a dynamic booking, you will find the voucher code in your travel documents. Then the identical issuance process of the railway takes effect.

Please check your travel documents to see if you can find a voucher code, because only then is the Rail & Fly ticket part of your booking.

Attention: The ticket must be activated before starting the journey. So please carry a printout or the QR code of the ticket with you!

With the voucher for the train to flight train ticket from DB AG, passengers have the opportunity to have their personal train ticket issued to all departure airports in Germany (including EuroAirport Basel and Salzburg).

That is new!  

The voucher code on the travel documents does not entitle you to travel with Deutsche Bahn, but must be converted into a ticket before departure.

How does it work? 

1. Step: https://dertouristik.bahnanreise.de and enter the voucher code from the travel documents.

After entering your voucher codes, you can receive additional input fields as required using the “Add another code” field.

Once you have entered the voucher codes (a separate code per person and per return journey), complete the entry by clicking on “Redeem codes”.

Step 2: Now select the travelers for whom you want to book a train ticket.

Step 3: Select the departure station and the desired train connection

Step 4: Please download your ticket now or have the ticket sent to your e-mail address.

Any compensation for delays will be transferred to passengers by the DB Passenger Rights Service Center. Travelers are asked to pay attention to the details. Passengers must choose a day of travel when they redeem their vouchers (one day before departure or the day of departure or the day of the return flight or one day after the return flight), but are then free to choose their connection on the selected day.
The system makes suggestions for the best train connections, from which you can then select the most suitable ones. However, the ticket does not bind you to the selected connection and is valid for the selected day until 3.00:XNUMX a.m. of the following day.

Calculate sufficient safety time

We recommend our passengers to choose the train connection in such a way that, in the event of a delay or cancellation of the selected train, sufficient safety time is calculated in order to reach the airport in good time before departure - accordingly, suitable connections are highlighted by Deutsche Bahn. However, you should definitely also calculate your own time window. The connection must ultimately be chosen so that you are at the airport at least 3 hours before departure. If, in the event of a strike or a storm, the airline has to change airports, the train ticket must be adjusted by DER Touristik (especially if there is a change of airport or a delay of more than 1 day). If there is a change of flight day and airport, the affected passengers are usually informed by our support units.

However, if the airline rebooks itself due to a strike, the tour operators are unfortunately not immediately aware of this. To change the train ticket, please get in touch with your booking office (travel agency) or DER Touristik travel support from your travel documents. If, in exceptional cases, a rebooking/change before the start of the journey is not possible, please ask the train conductor for a free “post fare levy”.

turn around. The missing documents must be attached as an attachment (the traveler may have to request these from the organizer again). If anything is unclear, DB will contact travelers. Regulation takes place between travelers and DB. Costs arising from the initiation of a collection procedure must be borne by the traveler.

If there are no technical problems and you board the train without conversion, the full daily fare would be due. The evidence of the technical problem must be documented.

The train to flight ticket also entitles you to use all public transport (including buses, underground and trams) in the participating transport associations, provided the departure and destination stations are within the respective association area.

Please note that the ticket is only valid until 3.00:XNUMX a.m. on the following day (after the date of issue). Means, keep an eye on the area of ​​validity via the railway portal in the event of flight time changes. Once you have redeemed your voucher code, it is no longer possible to change it yourself afterwards. In this case, to change the train ticket, please use the contact details of your DER Touristik travel support from your travel documents.

Train to flight vouchers for children

Children aged 0-5 travel free when accompanied by an adult and do not need a voucher code. They are not taken into account on the ticket.
Children aged 6-14 travel free when accompanied by an adult, must be stated when booking the ticket and require a voucher code. This must be redeemed together with the adult's voucher code.

Seat Reservations

Seat reservations are subject to a fee and will be charged with the currently valid reservation fee. The reservation fee is non-refundable.
