Green wherever you look

The spacious Alojera on the northwest coast of La Gomera is idyllically situated with a beautiful beach bay in a palm valley. Palm groves and fertile fields frame the elongated place with a beautiful bay. Alojera is dominated by some imposing rock walls, while on the other side the view opens onto the blue Atlantic. The quiet village stretches up from the coast to a height of about 400 m. From Valle Gran Rey or from Vallehermoso, the place can be reached by rental car via a winding road.

For a few years now, there has been a small upswing in this remote part of Gomera. Modern, larger properties have joined the traditional cubic white houses. But it is still quiet and comfortable here. If you are looking for typical Gomer flair, you can relax here in Alojera with a café cortado and watch the leisurely hustle and bustle.

The beach Playa de Alojera offers a nice swimming pool. The beach is ideal for quietly watching sunsets and spending a day by the sea.

Valle Gran Rey
The Valle Gran Rey consists of a large number of smaller villages and districts that can be found up to an altitude of 740 m. In many places the valley is characterized by its very special hippie charm.

The legendary valley of the great king in the west of the island developed from a paradise for dropouts to the most popular holiday destination on La Gomera. A well-developed high-altitude road meanders - past impressive rocky slopes - winding down to the beach. From above there is a wonderful view down into the green valley.

The individual districts lie close together in the beautiful valley. La Calera, La Playa, Borbalan, La Puntilla and Vueltas are close to the beach and port. In the upper valley, the districts of El Guro, El Retamal, El Hornillo, La Viscaina and others extend along the slopes of the valley. Mostly locals live here. Because of the mild climate, many tropical fruit trees such as mango, papaya, orange and banana thrive in Valle Gran Rey. In the harbor there are excursion boats and fishing boats. The Valle Gran Rey enchants with its beautiful landscape with terraced fields, numerous palm trees and colorful gardens. It also offers some of the most beautiful beaches on the island and is therefore very popular with sun worshipers and water lovers. Here, as well as in the bars, cafés and restaurants in the valley of the great king, you can relax wonderfully. In the evening, beautiful sunsets, accompanied by drum music, lure you to the legendary Casa Maria in La Playa. This is where people meet for a sundowner.

In the cozy restaurants, bars and pubs you can end the day in a nice atmosphere.

Active vacationers can look forward to an attractive offer: hiking on the old paths and trails, mountain biking in the mountains, a boat tour with whale watching or diving, kayaking, stand up paddle and attending yoga courses are possible in Valle Gran Rey! It is therefore the ideal vacation spot to combine activities with relaxation or swimming by the sea. The beautiful and comfortable accommodations make your stay a wonderful experience.

The beaches are natural beaches. Waves and currents determine whether there is more sand or stones on the bank.

Please note that currents and surf can be very strong and there are no lifeguards on the beaches.
