the essentials in brief
In the hotels and in the tourist centers as well as in restaurants and bars one understands German or at least English. However, when you go into the villages, everyone will only answer you in Spanish. Although foreign languages are playing an increasingly important role in school education and in everyday life in Spain too, you will usually only come into contact with the local population in their own national language or by sign language. We have put together some of the most important phrases for you here. Give it a try and you will see how pleased your efforts are.
