Cueva de los Verdes
The seven kilometer long volcanic cave is one of the longest in the world. It was created by a lava flow during the eruption of the La Corona volcano. The cave is natural. Their wonderful colors and shapes are unique.

The gulf
Shortly after the Salinas de Janubio, past the bitter coast of Los Hervideros, you will find this emerald-colored, shining lagoon, which is located in a high sea crater. Half of this crater was completely destroyed by the sea. The village of El Golfo is a tip for fans of fish dishes. Enjoy the freshly caught fish at sunset.

Famara
The longest and wildest beach on the island is ideal for a leisurely stroll. Swimming on this beach is dangerous because of the underwater currents that can pull even experienced swimmers far out to sea. Watch out for the bathing flags!

Femes
Located on one of the highest mountains in Lanzarote, 596 meters above sea level. From here you have a wonderful view of Fuerteventura. You will see Playa Blanca, the Papagayo beaches and the volcanic area.

Guatiza
In the middle of the cactus plantations is the cactus garden, the last work by César Manrique. Over 1.100 species of cacti were arranged not only according to genus, but also according to artistic criteria.

Would do
The valley of a thousand palms. Despite the 300 inhabitants, the village looks deserted. The market square with its avenue of eucalyptus trees will make you forget the barreness of the island. A visit to the miniature museum and a donkey safari for younger guests are also interesting. Haria specialty is a palm liqueur.

Jameos del Agua
The grotto owes its name to a salt water lake that is connected to the sea underground. Blind albino crabs live on the bottom of the lake, the origin of which has not yet been clarified. You will also find a tropical garden, a restaurant and several bars on different levels. The nature auditorium with its unique acoustics was built into a gas bubble. On the first floor you will find an exhibition on the flora and fauna of the Canary Islands and a seismographic station.

Mirador del Rio
This viewpoint, based on an idea by César Manrique, is 479 meters above sea level. The cliffs drop steeply towards the sea, where there are also some small salt pans. Through the panoramic windows you have a breathtaking view of the neighboring islands of La Graciosa, Alegranza and Montaña Clara.

Monument to the Peasant
The peasant monument was built around 1968 based on an idea by César Manrique and symbolizes the fertility of the land. Nearby there is a typical island tapas restaurant, the workshop of the potter Juan Brito and a lovingly restored farmer's cottage.

North of Lanzarote
On the road over Mala and Guatizia you will pass the largest cactus plantations on the island. This is where the "cochineal", the scale insect, are bred. Red paint is made from them, which is used in cosmetics, among other things.

Orzola
The northernmost village of Lanzarote invites fish fans to feast. The ferry to the offshore island of La Graciosa also departs from here.

Janubio Salt Flats
This salt production plant is located about ten kilometers west of Yaiza. This is where the largest amount of salt in Lanzarote is produced. You can still find the remains of the mills that were used to extract 100.000 tons of salt per year at the beginning of the last century. Today only salt is extracted for household use, and the salt pans now serve more as an industrial monument. In the evening you can admire an atmospheric sunset here.

Tahiche
The Fundación César Manrique at the entrance to the village is worth a visit. The unique home of the late island artist alone is a sight to see. In addition to the works of Manrique, pictures by contemporary painters can also be admired.

Say hello
A farm museum was created here from what was once the largest farm in Lanzarote. The development of agriculture is documented through a collection of photos, tools and flour mills. Don't forget to take a short break in the in-house bodega.

Yaiza
In the south of Lanzarote you will find the enchanting village of Yaiza, adorned with beautiful flowers. On the way there you will pass numerous palm trees and endemic plants. This village has been awarded the “Most Beautiful Village in Spain” award several times and is also called the “Capital of the South”. The Yaiza Gallery is located on the thoroughfare in Yaiza. You can admire pictures by various artists, but also buy ceramics and jewelry. The one at the Plaza de los Remedios is worth seeing

Nuestra Señora de los Remedios local church. In addition to the baroque high altar, it has an interesting coffered ceiling. After about 15 minutes you will reach the summit of Yaiza's local mountain, the Montana de la Cinta. From there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding volcanic mountains and the picturesque village.
