Weather forecast based on the three islands

The three Desertas - the islands off the south coast of Madeira - are well suited for a detailed weather forecast. Here are some possible interpretations:

  • If the islands seem within your grasp, you have to expect rain
  • When the desertas are overcast, the wind comes from the northeast and therefore the west, southwest and northwest are clear, while the east can be cloudy
  • If the desertas are in the haze, the south of Madeira is probably cloudy, but the sun is shining in all other parts of the island
  • If you can see the Desertas clearly and without blurring contours on the horizon, the west of Madeira is mostly cloudy, while it is clear in the southeast, northeast and east

As you can see, it is not that difficult to be a weatherman on Madeira. Just try it yourself!

Boa variety (good luck)!
