Popular holiday centers and charming coastal towns

Cala Mayor
Cala Mayor is a suburb of Palma. The summer residence of the Spanish royal family is also located here. There are numerous apartment and hotel complexes as well as bars, cafes and shops around the bay with its fine sandy beach. It is about five kilometers to Palma. There is a good bus connection.

Camp de Mar
The bay of Camp de Mar is located in beautiful, almost rural surroundings and is one of the most attractive on the southwest coast. The hotel and apartment complexes can be counted on one hand. Here you can find peace and yet you don't have to do without entertainment. Sports activities in particular are very important in Camp de Mar. The place is also an ideal starting point for walks and hikes in the beautiful surroundings. Camp de Mar is only about four kilometers from the lively Paguera. There is a regular bus connection there during the day. The pretty bay, which slopes gently into the sea, is preceded by a tiny island on which there is a restaurant. On the beach you can swim in peace, relax, enjoy the sea and the sun (deck chair and parasol rental in midsummer). The closest golf courses are in Santa Ponça and Bendinat.

illetas
Illetas is a charming little resort with style. Steep coasts, small sandy bays, pine-covered cliffs, villas and comfortable hotels characterize the townscape. From everywhere you have a wonderful view of the sea. Here you will find not only a few shops and boutiques but also good restaurants and pubs.

Magaluf
Magaluf is located, along with Palma Nova, in the western part of the bay that also shares Palma and Playa de Palma. Magaluf is a popular holiday center with a wide range of hotels and entertainment options such as pubs, discos, snack bars and huge slot machines. The beach promenade invites you to stroll. Magaluf's nightlife is an absolute must for any fun-loving visitor to Mallorca.

Paguera
Wooded hills and the rocky peaks of the west coast of Mallorca form the backdrop for the particularly popular and well-known resort of Paguera. For sun worshipers there are two beaches with deck chairs and parasols for hire in the midsummer months. The boulevard and the beautiful beach promenade invite you to stroll. Paguera is also a preferred place for nature lovers, hikers and tennis players (15 sand courts with floodlights). The 18-hole golf courses of Santa Ponça and Poniente are about seven and 18 kilometers away, respectively. There are regular bus connections to the capital Palma, about 25 kilometers away. For several years now, a tunnel has been leading the main traffic behind the town and has contributed significantly to calming the resort.

Palmanova
Palma Nova and Magaluf form the gradually growing closer together places of the protected and thus pleasantly warm Costa de Calvia. It is precisely this stretch of coastline that shows the different faces of Mallorca very clearly: there are urban castles and mass tourism especially in Magaluf, while Palma Nova has over 20 percent of the four-star hotels, a casino and one of the largest discos in Europe. Behind the last hotels, wide fields and forests begin, which invite you to take long walks. The water parks Aqua- and Western-Park offer lots of fun and variety.

Santa Ponça
The place is about 20 kilometers southwest of Palma de Mallorca in a bay with a wide beach. The picturesque rock formations that frame the crescent-shaped bathing bay are typical. The beautiful pine groves in the area are ideal for walks. Sports enthusiasts get their money's worth here with water sports, tennis, mini golf, cycling or golf. Two 18-hole golf courses are nearby. Public bus connections to Palma de Mallorca during the day.
