With the European health insurance card EHIC from your health insurance company, you can be treated free of charge in the CENTRO PAC. German is not necessarily spoken here.

bus connections
There is an extensive bus network in Mallorca. You pay each time you board. City buses operate in Palma - you also have the option of buying multi-trip tickets.

Business hours
09:00 - 13:00 and 17:00 - 20:00 h. Shops in Palma are closed on Sundays and public holidays, as well as mostly on Saturday afternoons. The large shopping centers such as El Corte Inglés, Carrefour or Porto Pi Centro are open all day.
In the tourist centers, many shops are also open outside of normal hours.

tap water
The quality of the drinking water is generally good, but it contains chlorine. You can use it to brush your teeth without hesitation. Mineral water is available in the supermarkets.

Rental car
Rental cars are often offered by different providers with considerable price differences and under different conditions. It is best to contact your travel agent or reserve your rental car conveniently via this website.

Parking
There are blue zones in many cities. Parking here is limited in time. You need a parking ticket, available from the machine. Yellow curbs mean that no parking is allowed. In some streets, people park alternately on certain calendar days / months. The regulation is then noted at the bottom of the no-parking signs.

Police
The reception or your tour guide will tell you the police station responsible.

Post
Post offices are open weekdays from 09:00 - 13:00 h open. A postcard or a letter to Germany/Austria/Switzerland costs around €0,58.

Radio
There is a German-language transmitter on FM 95,8 kHz, for the east coast 99,6 kHz, which regularly broadcasts news, island information and music.

Safety
Don't let carnation women, street vendors and gamblers approach you. The majority of these are dubious offers and business practices. We recommend renting a safe for your valuables. On your return journey, do not leave your luggage unattended at the airport.

Beach
The Blue Environment Flag, the EU's seal of quality for the best beach and water quality, hangs on many beaches. Flags fly on all supervised beaches to help you correctly assess the bathing weather.

Sometimes there are dangerous currents in Mallorca. Assess your strength correctly and don't swim too far out! On beaches with water sports there are zones marked with buoys, in which swimming is not allowed.

Swimmingpool
Please note the usage times. When draining the water or cleaning, we ask you not to use the pool.

Tobacco shop (= ESTANCO)
In addition to tobacco products, you can also get stamps, telephone cards and, if necessary, bus tickets.

Tip
Tips are included in the price, but you are still happy to receive recognition for good service (5-10% of the invoice amount). In hotels, tips should not be paid until the end of your vacation if possible (housekeeping, waiters).

Valuables
Valuables and cash should be deposited in the safe, otherwise the hotel will not accept liability.

International press is available in the newsagents and at many reception desks. In addition, two German-language newspapers, Mallorca Magazin and Mallorca Zeitung, appear every week.
