Agency

Pharmacy
These are called Farmakeion and are marked with a green cross. Opening times like those of the shops. An emergency pharmacy is open at night and also on Sundays.
Doctor
In the case of treatment, you must pay the doctor's fees and medication directly. Please keep all receipts and submit them to your health insurance company for reimbursement when you return home.

The telephone numbers of the German, Austrian and Swiss representations can be obtained from your tour guide.
Bus
There are regular connections to and from Kos Town. Please inquire about the departure times at the hotel reception.
shopping
In Kos Town you will find a number of souvenir shops, but you can also find something in the small shops in the villages. Common souvenirs are gold and silver jewelry, ceramics and typical handicrafts. But dried herbs are also good souvenirs, do not burden your luggage and are sure to please every amateur cook. The honey that can be bought on the island is also delicious.
Filming & photography
Please note that filming and photography is strictly prohibited in military areas.
Hospital
In the state hospital, treatment (first aid) is free. In the event of an inpatient stay, please inform your international health insurance company immediately. If you have not taken out health insurance abroad, keep the receipts for billing for your health insurance company.
Opening hours
Archaeological sites / museums:
Tuesday to Sunday approximately 09:00 - 15:00 h.
Bank:
Monday to Friday 09:00 - 14:00 h.
Businesses:
Monday to Saturday 09:00 - 13:00 and 17:00 – 21:00 h.
Shops are closed on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. In the tourist areas, however, the souvenir shops and small supermarkets are also open on weekends and until late in the evening.
Post:
Monday to Friday 09:00 - 14:00 h.
Post
You can get stamps wherever postcards are sold. Postage is €0,65 (status at the time of going to print). Post offices are in Kos town and in Kardamena, opening times are as follows. You can leave your holiday post at the reception in most hotels, and they will then take care of forwarding it.
Safe
Please be sure to put your valuables such as jewelry, passports and tickets in a safe. If there is no safe in your room, you can rent it at the hotel reception (usually for a fee).
Taxi
The hotel reception will help you to order a taxi. There is a taximeter in every taxi. Make sure that the driver switches it on. If you want to call a taxi yourself:

Phone
If you want to call home, it is cheaper to call from the telephone booth than from the hotel. Telephone cards for public telephones are available from all kiosks. If you use your mobile phone to make calls, keep the roaming charges in mind. Area code to Germany: 0049, to Austria: 0043, to Switzerland: 0041, then each area code without the 0.
