A peaceful town

Agüimes has about 17.400 inhabitants and is located not far from the Guayadeque Caves and Barranco de Balos in the southeast of the island. From here, both the mountains than can reach the sea and Las Palmas and the airport in less than 20 minutes.

The church of San Sebastian is like an art museum and has beautiful paintings and sculptures. She is one of the best preserved on the island. The building was completed in 1952, although the start of construction dates back to the 18th century.

los Lomo de Leteros: Barranco Valley is the holy place of Guanche. Ancient inscriptions and shadowy figures of people line the sloping rock.
