Medical care
If you have taken out private health insurance abroad, we recommend that you consult a private German-speaking doctor. Of course, you can also have a doctor come to the hotel. The costs for this are to be paid in cash and will be reimbursed by your international health insurance company on presentation of the receipt.
Pharmacy - Farmacia
You can recognize Spanish pharmacies by a green cross. The opening hours are usually Monday to Friday from 9 am to 13 pm and from 16 pm to 19 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 13 pm. If you need medication outside of these times, you will find a notice in every pharmacy with the address of the nearest emergency pharmacy.

swimming in the sea
In the Atlantic there are ebb and flow of tides. Due to dangerous water currents, caution should be exercised when swimming. Please pay attention to the warning signs and flags placed on the beach.

Theft
We warn against pickpockets! Be sure to deposit your valuables in the safe that you rent at reception. Keep doors and windows closed when you leave your accommodation. In the event of theft, we recommend taking a log on the central telephone number of the Spanish police in Madrid (tel. 902 102 112). You will be given a reference number that you can use to collect the log from the local police in San Fernando. It will help you register possible claims with your insurance company.

Compare the prices! Photo, radio and electronic items are generally not much cheaper than in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Tobacco products are cheaper. Bargaining is possible in some stores and in most markets.

Bank branches can be found in almost all shopping centers.

Public buses
There is a regular bus connection between most places. Timetables are available either from the tourist offices or by asking at reception.

Most of the staff at the reception speak or understand German. At the reception you can rent a safe, make phone calls and report any complaints. Please note the opening times. In some apartment and bungalow complexes, the reception is not always manned.
Playground
Please do not let your children play unattended.
Current / voltage
As in Germany and Austria, the voltage is 220 volts. If the plugs on your electrical appliances do not fit, you can get the appropriate adapter at reception or in supermarkets.
Sunbathing
Please note that the sunshine on Gran Canaria is very intense. We recommend sunscreen with a high sun protection factor. In particular, protect your children from the sun. However, should you have sunburned yourself, aloe vera is very soothing. Your skin will thank you. Ask your tour guide!
Sport
Golf: There are several preferred 18- and 9-hole golf courses between Maspalomas and Puerto de
Mogan. Ask your tour guide!
Minigolf: In Playa del Inglés in the “CITA” shopping center and in the “San Valentin Park”.
Horse riding: Riding stables are located near your vacation spot. Book directly with your tour guide.
Tennis: In many facilities you can rent a place even if you are not a guest of the hotel.
Watersports
Centers are in Puerto Rico and Arguineguin. Sailing, diving, water skiing and windsurfing are also possible in various clubs in San Agustin and Bahia Feliz.
Taxi
Taxis can be hailed anywhere or ordered over the phone. All taxis have a taximeter. The prices are a little cheaper than in Germany, Austria or Switzerland.

Tip
Everyone is happy to receive a thank you in the form of a sum of money. 5-10% depending on the performance is appropriate.
Sales trips
Caution is advised when participating in free or supposedly inexpensive excursions. These are usually camouflaged sales trips. Book quality directly with your tour guide!
