The somewhat more rural vacation spot

Here on the Rio de Santa Eulária des Riu, the only watercourse in the Balearic Islands that constantly carries water, there was probably already a settlement in Roman times. So Santa Eulária des Riu developed early into a center of agriculture.

At the beginning of this century, the place was the first on the island to be discovered by strangers, mostly artists. Today's tourism developed from this. High on the Puig den Missa, Messberg, is the 16th century church dedicated to “Our dear mother of the child”. The sight is particularly romantic at night when the church and the Messberg are illuminated by spotlights.

Once a small fishing village, the city is now the third largest town on Ibiza and a holiday resort with a village character. Despite the flourishing tourism, it has retained its original character and offers guests who are not looking for extravagant party nights a suitable ambience. The wide beach promenade invites you to stroll and linger in one of the many cafes and restaurants. Hence the reputation as the gastronomic center of the island. Nowhere else will you find so many different restaurants in their genuine style.

The town hall is located in the upper area of the small main square, which is decorated with a fountain and palm trees. There is also the monument to the brave inhabitants of Santa Eulária des Riu, who saved the life of the SS-Mallorca crew, who got into distress in 1913.
