Enjoy the sun, sand and sea

Ibiza is a bay paradise. There are over 50 beaches around the island, some of them secluded bays or long sandy beaches such as Playa den Bossa. Some landscapes that have not yet been built have been protected by a nature conservation law. With the rental car, hidden bays on the small island (48 km long, 21 km wide) can be reached in a short time.

Lifeguards and a warning flag system are available on most beaches. Please note the areas that are demarcated for water sports. Don't forget to always use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor.

Green: Bathing and swimming possible
Yellow: Swimming out is prohibited
Red: Swimming and bathing are prohibited
Black and white checkered: Beach without the supervision of a lifeguard

Platja d'en Bossa
The beach at Platja d'en Bossa is the longest on the island and, with its many cafes and bars, is ideal for a sociable beach life. It slopes gently into the water and is a mecca for windsurfers on windy days. In addition to the very lively beach sections in the direction of Ibiza Town, there are also quieter parts in the other direction. Here you will find a lot of water sports.

Ses Salinas / Platja des Cavallet
The salt pans are under nature protection. Salt has been extracted from the water basins for thousands of years - one of the most interesting landscapes on the island.

The clear, gently sloping water on the beach of Ses Salinas shines in various shades of blue and turquoise on calm days, while impressive waves roll onto the beach when the wind blows from the south. The surrounding nature reserve is ideal for long walks through the untouched landscape. In the summer months, Ses Salinas is the trendy beach for the rich, the beautiful and the party scene. The bikinis show more than they cover - the beautiful here can easily compete with the Baywatch ladies!

The beach in front of Platja des Cavallet is next to Aiguas Blancas the only official nudist beach on the island. The beach is unspoilt and natural. You can take long walks here, surrounded by a dune landscape. Altogether two of the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza.

Jondal Cala
Cala des Jondal is located on the south coast of Ibiza, in a scenic location and framed by a green hilly landscape. The pebble beach is interrupted here and there by sections with fine sand, most of which was artificially piled up by the beach bars located here. These areas form the highlight of the bay, because here bathers can rent original beach loungers made of wooden plateaus and comfortable mattresses including a parasol. In the bar area with a lounge atmosphere, visitors are sprinkled with music and enjoyed with snacks and cold drinks.

Comte beaches
Two sandy beaches surrounded by rocks with a third section at the rear end form the Platges de Comte (Cala Conta). With its gently sloping water, it is ideal for children to splash around. The beach is located at the westernmost point of Ibiza. The water here is particularly clean. In the evenings you can be enchanted by the magnificent sunsets.

Cala d'Hort
From the narrow sandy beach you have a great view of the mysterious rock island Es Vedra, which lies a few hundred meters from the shore. You can also enjoy the view from some restaurants and bars. The sunset during an evening visit is a dream.

Es Vedrá is a small rocky island in front of Cala d'Hort. The top of the rock protrudes almost 400 m from the water. There are many legends and stories about Es Vedrá: For example, the island is said to have been the home of the sirens from Odysseus' wanderings. With their singing, the sirens distracted the sailors from the correct course and their ships ran aground. The fact is that ships repeatedly crashed and people disappeared on the reefs in front of the rock because the dangers of currents and reefs were not taken seriously. Others claim that Es Vedrá is a UFO landing site. Locals and tourists alike go UFO hunting in the area around Es Vedrá. Next to Es Vedrá is the little sister island Es Vedranell. Both islands offer a wonderful sight and are also a bird sanctuary.

Saint Michael
Medium-sized, wide, natural sandy beach, surrounded by pine-covered hills, which are ideal for walks if you don't mind a bit of climbing. Ideally suited for a bath after visiting the stalactite caves Cova Can Marça. To the right of the bay, two hotels are spectacularly built into the rocky slopes.

Cala Benirras
Pine-covered hills surround a small bay with a shallow sandy beach. The environment is still very natural and ideal for walks. There are a few restaurants and bars right on the beach. On Sundays, mostly local musicians accompany the sunset with bongos and guitars.

Portinatx cove
The resort of Portinatx is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of coast on the island and is a popular destination. The panoramic view from the cliffs down to the crystal clear water, which shimmers from deep blue to turquoise due to the interplay between rocky and sandy seabed, is unique. There are three beautiful sandy beaches around Portinatx, all suitable for children and with a wide range. The largest, S'Arenal Gros, is directly opposite the bus parking lot. The smaller S'Arenal Petit beach is less visited, it is located behind the rocky promontory on the left side of the main bay. Surrounded by pine-covered hills, the third beach, Playa Porto, is at the end of the main road in a small bay.

Aigua Blanca
Many small bays with fine sandy beaches. The cliffs of the steep coast are enthroned above it. There are some small rock islands in the water that can be reached by swimming. The name Aigua Blanca (white water) comes from the surf reinforced by the rocks. This makes the water crystal clear. The beach is an official nudist beach. However, nudists are often in the minority. Aigua Blanca has now risen to become an alternative trendy beach in the northeast. The trendy audience is mainly around the southern of the two kiosks on the beach.

Cala Llenya
Clear, clean water, in which bathers can still stand comfortably far outside - that is the hallmark of Cala Llenya in the northeast of Ibiza. On the bright sandy beach, the parasols shine like colorful dots. The beautiful hinterland of Cala Llenya, which is best reached by car, is ideal for exploring.

Cala Nova
A sandy beach sloping gently into the water with crystal clear, shallow water - ideal for families with children! The surrounding area is wild and natural, to the left of the bay is a small hill lined with pine trees, which is ideal for walks. Beautiful even in rough weather when the impressive breakers create a rather dangerous undercurrent. Very popular with the island's few surfers to date.

Niu Blau
Niu Blau Beach is bordered on the left and right by two overgrown rocky outcrops that reach down to the beach. The s'Argentera torrent flowing here has given this beach a spectacular, wild landscape over the centuries. At the bay, a fine sandy beach of natural origin alternates with gravel washed ashore by the river and with some smaller rocks. At the bottom of the sea there are mostly rocks, with sand and gravel in between. Since the beach slopes only very slightly into the sea, it is particularly suitable for children. Niu Blau is also popular with the locals. The special feature here are the pine trees that grow into the beach and provide shade in a natural way.
