Facts and Figures
The purest wasteland - a newcomer may think when he looks out of the window at the Canary Island when approaching for landing. But the first impression is deceptive: On Fuerteventura, the fascination of colors works with light and shadow.
Soft ocher tones, which alternate with reddish, brownish and yellow nuances, give the island its charm. The seemingly vegetation-free landscape is hardly reminiscent of the extinct volcanoes and solidified lava flows millions of years ago. The magic of "Isla Tranquila" does not work immediately. Only when you come to rest yourself do you feel the serenity and the infinite beauty in the barren nothingness of the island.
