Health: In your own interest, please note the following tips. After all, you don't want to stay in bed when you're on holiday, you want to come home relaxed.
- Be sure to avoid ice-cold drinks and too much sun
- Drink about 2 liters of water daily
- Do not drink tap water, although it has been sterilized, it is not recommended as drinking water (ice cubes in drinks are harmless, they are made in ice factories)
- Avoid eating food from traveling street vendors, the hygienic conditions usually leave a lot to be desired
Pharmacy: These are called farmacias and there are some with 24-hour service. Pharmacies can also be found in shopping centers and in the pedestrian zone of Playa del Carmen. Most medicines are available without a prescription.
Doctor/Hospital: In the event of illness, a doctor can be called via reception. You have to pay in advance for the visit and the medication, but you will receive the corresponding receipts that you can submit to your health insurance company.
