Magical count's castle
The small, magical place is located on a small hill, approx. 11 km from Faro.
In the middle of the village is the castle of the Counts of Estoi, built in the 18th century. The castle was designed on the model of baroque Italian gardens and decorated with statues, tile pictures - the so-called azulejos - and Roman mosaics. Nowadays it houses the Hotel Poussada de Estoi.
When strolling through the small town and the castle, you almost feel transported back in time.
