Go for a stroll in the market

Saturday is market day! Around the Moorish-looking market halls with their characteristic onion domes, the streets overflow with everything the region has to offer: sausages, oranges, olives and herbs, of course handicrafts. A lot of what is made in the Loulé workshops, of course, junk and antique items and much more.

The partially preserved city wall with the remains of a castle, the Gothic parish church with azulejos (tile pictures) from the 18th century, the Misericordia church with a radial Manueline portal and the pilgrimage church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade are worth seeing.
