Tunisia's fertile peninsula

The Cap Bon is the country's fruit and vegetable garden. The fertile peninsula is therefore heavily populated. The mild sea climate and the almost exotic vegetation make this spot particularly attractive.

Citrus fruits of all kinds grow in the hinterland. Orange, mandarin and lemon plantations not only supply Tunisia with plenty of fruit, their products are also popular on the European market. Figs, pomegranates and grapes also thrive here.

The flowers and flowering shrubs are used to distill essential oils such as rose, jasmine, geranium and orange blossom oil, as well as the bergamot oil required for every perfume production. The north-west coast of Cap Bon is beautifully landscaped with its steep, jagged rocks and secluded bathing bays. There are the Korbous and Ain Oktor thermal stations with hot water springs of 44 to 60 degrees.
